Terms & Conditions

These are the Terms & Conditions for the ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme run by Roots Mortgages (we/us).

1. This offer is open to all UK residents aged 18 or over – except for employees of Roots Mortgages, employees of third parties who have contractual agreements in place with us, and individuals who have contractual agreements in place with us.
2. You cannot refer yourself.
3. There is no limit to the number of referrals that can be made.
4. There is only one reward made for each new customer introduced.
5. The reward is only valid if a referral is not an existing customer or prospect of Roots Mortgages.
6. The reward is only sent once the individual referred to us has had their mortgage offer accepted and we have received our fee from the lender.
7. The referral must have been made and received by us prior to the individual being referred having started the process of speaking to us about their mortgage application.
8. If the individual referred pays the standard fee of £650 then the reward is one £100 eVoucher.
9. If the individual referred pays the reduced fee of £500 then the reward is one £75 eVoucher.
10. The reward is an online eVoucher issued electronically by Roots Mortgages using the VEX Rewards online platform.
11. The reward cannot be exchanged for cash or any other medium of currency etc.
12. Each voucher issued will include a 6 month validity period. After which time, any voucher will be unable to be redeemed. We will not be responsible for any voucher(s) which fall outside of this period and will not accept responsibility for replacing expired vouchers.
13. If any details cannot be substantiated then we cannot be held accountable.
14. If the same referral is received from multiple sources for the same mortgage application, the reward will be issued to the referral that was received first.
15. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.
16. This promotion is governed by English Law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
17. If any provision of these terms and conditions is held invalid by any law, rule, order or regulation of any government, or by the final determination of any court of a competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the enforceability of any other provisions not held to be invalid.
18. If there is a dispute in relation to this referral scheme, the decision of Roots Mortgages is final.
19. This referral scheme is effective from 1^st October 2020.
20. In the event of fraud, abuse, and/or an error affecting the proper operation of this offer we reserve the right to end or suspend the offer or amend these terms and conditions.
21. Roots Mortgages reserve the right to change and/or withdraw this scheme at any time, and without notice.
